PURPOSE: Absorbing structure for impact of a footrest in a vehicle is provided to prevent the tibia of a driver from being injured by welding flanges into a floor and inserting structural foam between the footrest and the floor. CONSTITUTION: Flanges(12a,12b,12c,12d,12e) are formed in upper and lower parts of a rectangular plate(11), and welded into a floor(20). Structural foam(30) is inserted between the footrest and the floor, and hardened after foaming. The footrest absorbs impact until breaking flanges in transmitting shock to the leg of a driver at a collision, and the structural foam absorbs shock with deforming. The weight is reduced, and impact is absorbed efficiently by decreasing the thickness of the flange. The tibia of the driver is protected at the collision by inserting the structural foam between the footrest and the floor.
