PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve main performances required for an optical disk drive such as assured compatibility of optical recording media, improvement of data reliability and seeking reliability, expansion of a disk receiving range. SOLUTION: The drive of an optical recording medium is provided with an optical beam converging device for setting the converging spot shape of a converged beam guided to the recording pit area of an optical recording medium so as to match with a track pitch and performing recording/ reproduction on the optical recording medium by using the converging spot of the set shape. |
