PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality image forming apparatus and a high-quality process cartridge capable of preventing developer from being needlessly consumed in an image non-forming period such as the initializing time, the warming-up time, the printing starting time and the printing finishing time of the apparatus and also preventing a back surface staining of a sheet at the time of printing with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is equipped with a high-voltage power source 33 applying voltage to an aluminum pipe stock 1a while a non- electrification area on a photoreceptor drum 1 is positioned at least in a developing area, and drum bias T3 applied by the power source 33 is larger than developing bias T2 when the polarity of the developer is positive, and the bias T3 is smaller than the bias T2 when the polarity of the developer is negative. |
