PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book lending system which enables a user to retrieve a book, etc., through a network and follow borrowing and returning procedures through the network and at a specified place other than a library, etc. SOLUTION: A user terminal of this book lending system has a means for retrieving books from the library and a means for specifying public facilities which receive books and a book management system terminal has a means which sends distribution indication information for distributing a reserved book to be lent to public facilities that the user specifies to the library terminal and a public facility terminal and a means for registering the preparation state of the book to be lent that the user reserves. Then a library terminal has a means for sending the preparation state information on the book to the library management system terminal and the public facility terminal has a means for receiving the distribution indication information sent from the library management system terminal and a means for sending lent book state information to the library terminal. |
