PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect control characteristics for controlling a line feed motor. SOLUTION: A control method for a motor which controls a transport mechanism judges whether a recording medium is present in the transport mechanism (S9002), generates ideal profile information for the motor which drives and controls the transport mechanism if a recording medium is not present, evaluates the control characteristics of the transport mechanism and the motor by driving and controlling the mechanism according to the profile, and updates the generated ideal profile information according to the evaluation (S9004). |
