<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize information, such as the output environment of image data and the number of recording pixels at image compression for conducting proper image compression processing. SOLUTION: An image compressor is provided with a conversion section, that applies frequency decomposition to image data to obtain a conversion coefficient, an encoding section that applies encoding processing to the conversion coefficient obtained with the conversion section to generate compressed data, an information acquisition section that acquires information of the output environment of the image data from the outside, and an encoding adjustment section that revises the method of encoding processing according to the information of the output environment.</p> |
