PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display character data entered by a user on a screen of a monitor synchronously with a video image. SOLUTION: This invention provides the optical disk reproducing device reproducing a video signal recorded on an optical disk that cyclicly changes a plurality of characters every time a plurality of entry keys are depressed to receive character data and store the data, and displays the stored character data on the screen of monitor synchronously with a video image repetitively reproduced, or a designated video image in advance, or a video image reproduced linked with the replacement of the optical disk. Further, the optical disk reproducing device can convert entered character data into desired KANJI (Chinese character) data.
