PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction skip setting device which is capable of automatically performing skip reproduction without manually making tangled operations at all when a recording medium having recording tracks of an extremely short time resultingly created by a recording failure or the like is set at a reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: A key 3 for operation connected to a CPU 1 is a key to impart various kinds of operation commands and a key 4 for edition is a key to impart various edition commands. A skip decision section 5, a timer 6 and a timer second time setting section 7 are connected to the CPU 1. Timer means to start clocking at the point of the time the information recording to the recording tracks is started by the button operation of the key 3 for operation is composed of the timer 6. Control means for sending reproduction skip control data to the recording and reproducing section 2 and recording the same at the control tracks of the recording medium is composed of the CPU 1 and the 'skip decision section 5, the timer 6 and the timer second time setting section 7'.
