PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a chucking defect caused by the off-center state of a reel in the case that a magnetic tape cartridge is set to a drive device in the vertical state with respect to the magnetic tape cartridge where the single reel 2 which has a magnetic tape wound around the outer periphery of a reel hub 21 is rotatably stored in a cartridge case 3 and a lock member 4 which locks the reel 2 to inhibit rotation of the reel 2 at the time of not using is so provided that it can be moved between a lock position and a lock release position in the axial direction of the reel 2. SOLUTION: A lot of ribs 28 extended in the axial direction of the reel 2 are formed on the inner peripheral surface of the reel hub 21, and a clearance c1 between the lock member 4 and the ribs 28 at the time of placing the lock member 4 in the lock position is set to a value smaller than the value of a clearance c2 between the lock member 4 and the ribs 28 at the time of placing the lock member 4 in the lock release position.
