PURPOSE: An open caisson of a bridge and a sinking method thereof are provided to eliminate a blocking problem of an air injection hole and consequently secure a smooth air injection, thus maximizing efficiency of a sinking work and considerably reducing a construction period. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of air supply pipes(20) are vertically installed along a longitudinal direction inside a molded open caisson body(10) so that the upper ends of the pipes being exposed out of the upper end of the open caisson body, and on the other hand, an air diffusion pipe(30) for injecting air supplied from the lower ends of the air supply pipes into a gap between the circumference of the open caisson body and an excavation wall(60). The air diffusion pipe is provided with a plurality of injection pipes(31) along the rim thereof, and an injection nozzle(40) installed to the tip end of the injection pipe has a valve(50) elastically supported by a spring(51) to open an injection hole(41) during the injection of the air.
