PURPOSE: A deformation prevention device for a deflection yoke is provided to achieve improved reliability of a mis-convergence correcting device by preventing deformation of each circuit element of the mis-convergence correcting device during open short test. CONSTITUTION: A deformation prevention device comprises first to six coma-free coils(51 to 56) electrically connected in serial to a vertical coil main unit(10); a YHC mis-convergence adjustment unit(20) connected in parallel to first to fourth coma-free coils, and which adjusts mis-convergence of screen by controlling the relative amount of the current flowing at first to fourth coma-free coils; a YV mis-convergence adjustment unit(30) connected in parallel to fifth and sixth coma-free coils, and which adjusts vertical mis-convergence of screen by controlling the relative amount of the current flowing at fifth and sixth coma-free coils; and a protection resistor unit(80) connected to the contact between the first coma-free coil and the YHC mis-convergence adjustment unit and to the contact between the sixth coma-free coil and the YV mis-convergence adjustment unit, and which permits the current flowing at the YHC mis-convergence adjustment unit to be distributed and input.
