PURPOSE: A method for controlling preheating operation of compressor is provided to efficiently control preheating operation of the compressor when power supply to a product is resumed. CONSTITUTION: A method includes the steps of: a detecting step detecting outdoor temperature and temperature of a dome of a compressor; a first determining step(303) comparing the detected indoor temperature with a first preset preheating temperature to determine whether the compressor is to be preheated; a second determining step(306) comparing the detected temperature of the dome of the compressor with a second preset preheating temperature to determine whether the compressor is to be preheated; a time setting step(315,318) setting time for preheating the compressor according to the detected outdoor temperature when the compressor is determined to need preheating operation in the first determining step and the second determining step; and a preheating operation step(321,327,333) controlling a motor of the compressor not to rotate for the set time for preheating the compressor and impressing voltage to a three-phase coil.
