PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improves the contour of an image by using the process based on the chrominance (color) signal. SOLUTION: The camera having the contour compensation circuit comprises a sensor comprising sensitive pixels sensitive to various color components providing all spectrums of spatial frequencies; and a 1st image filtering device that filters a low frequency component at least within the spectrums for the purpose of the processing of the signal outputted from the sensitivity pixels. The camera is configured to have a 1st branch to which the 1st filtering device is inserted, a 2nd branch to which at least the contour compensation circuit is inserted for a high frequency operation by taking into account all signals outputted from the sensitivity pixels, and a combination device that supplies an image from output signals from the 1st and 2nd branches.
