PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit and a method functioning with high accuracy, in order to convert an input digital signal sequence having an input sampling rate into a digital output signal sequence which has an output sampling rate, whereby the acquiring time is shortened sufficiently. SOLUTION: An evaluation unit evaluates the ratio of sampling rate between an input sampling rate and an output sampling rate, in a measuring interval having a variable measuring length, a control system compares the actual phase of an output signal sequence with a set point phase and generates a control signal, as a function of the evaluated ratio of sampling rate and the deviation of the actual phase from the set point phase. An interpolator interpolates an input signal sequence, in order to generate an output signal sequence with a sampling time, where the temporal position is predetermined by the control signal.
