PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a specific characteristics which music, etc., processes and to provide it as new information. SOLUTION: Reproduced data DAU 1 read out from an information recording media such as an optical disk and sub-code data DSB including information on track elapse time indicating the recording position of the reproduced data DAU 1 are supplied to a beat detecting part 39 and a beat position detecting part 40. The beat detecting part 39 detects a frequency of change in an amplitude for every predetermined frequency of the reproduced data DAU 1, and the beat position detecting part 40 detects the track elapse time from the sub- code data DSB. Furthermore, a beat density operation part 48 obtains the frequency to the track elapse time as characteristics information on a beat density. The specific characteristics which music, etc., possesses is provided as not an instantaneous characteristics but a characteristics over a comparatively long period or the entire characteristics of a signal for audio reproduction by visibly displaying characteristics information on the beat density on a display part. |
