PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user of a portable telephone to more surely recognize the arrival of an incoming call. SOLUTION: In the portable communication system, a portable communication network management center 6 receives an incoming call addressed to a digital portable telephone set 2 that is set to an in-vehicle manner mode, generates incoming call arrival information 100 based on the received incoming call, broadcasts the information, sequentially transmits again the incoming call arrival information 100 in response to return of a received acknowledgement from the digital portable telephone set 2 when the in-vehicle manner mode is released, the digital portable telephone set 2 can surely receive all the incoming call arrival information 100 in the in-vehicle manner mode so as to allow the user of the digital portable telephone set 2 to more surely recognize the arrival of the incoming call.
