SEPARATOR FOR ALKALINE BATTERY, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD AND BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for an alkaline battery having a sulfonic group in a large quantity while maintaining strength of its raw material. SOLUTION: Polyolefin system nonwoven fabric is formed with sulfonic group-containing multi-core complex fiber and separately prepared polyolefin system fiber as main components, and a separator material is manufactured by increasing volume of a sulfonic group contained in the sulfonic group- containing multi-core complex fiber by further putting the polyolefin system nonwoven fabric under sulfonation treatment.
