PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device having allowance to surface staining by stopping stirring operation in the case of detecting a fixed condition when developer is exchanged, stopping the replenishment of a developer stirring part with recycled toner and preventing the excessive replenishment with the toner. SOLUTION: This developing device is constituted of a photoreceptor (electrostatic latent image holding body) 1 on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, an electrifying device 2 uniformly electrifying the photoreceptor 1, a modulated laser beam 3 from an exposure device, the developing device 4 developing the electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor 1, an image density sensor (image density detection means) 6 (P sensor) constituted of a reflection type photosensor and detecting image density formed on the photoreceptor 1, a transfer device 5 transferring a toner image on the photoreceptor 1, a cleaning device (cleaning means) 7 removing residual toner on the photoreceptor 1, and a recycling means restoring the toner (recycled toner) recovered in the cleaning device 7 to the developing device 4 by a screw or the like, which are arranged in order in the rotating direction of the photoreceptor 1 shown by an arrow. |
