SOLUTION: This musical sound generation system is provided with an operation detecting terminal carried by an operator. The operation of the operator is detected by the operation detecting terminal and is transmitted to a musical sound generating device. The musical sound generating device generates musical sounds according to the operation of the operator according to an operation detection signal supplied from the operation detecting terminal. The musical sound generating device judges whether the absolute value level of the operation detection signal is larger than a threshold value S or not, and stops the generation of all musical sounds when a period with a level smaller than the threshold value S passes predetermined time t.
