PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, a method and a program for preparing XML document of image data, by which the display/print of image data of a document read from a scanner can be freely edited by generating an XML document from the recognized result of the image data and storing it in a filing server. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a recognizing means 20 for generating an XML document for output by reading the document from a scanner 10, generating the XML document by recognizing these acquired image data, and converting the tag of that generated XML document to a desired form and a filing server 40 for storing the image data and the corresponding XML document for output.
