PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data converter accelerating a processing speed and improving data reliability. SOLUTION: In the data converter 10 performing A/D conversion, analog values inputted from an analog amount input part 11 are successively A/D converted to the digital values of n bits in an A/D conversion part 12 and temporarily held in a data holding part 13, and when data input is requested from a PLC main body 15 only in a fixed period t, only m bits which are optional low-order bits are transmitted through a serial I/O bus 14 to the PLC main body 15. Thus, compared to a conventional method, transmission time is shortened for (n-m) bits and the processing speed is accelerated.
