PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail certification system in which a third party organization proves electronic mail by storing and accumulating the transmitted date and time and the contents of the mail. SOLUTION: This electronic mail certification system is provided with a mail server which transfers copy mails to and from other mail servers, a database in which the registered information of users is stored, and an electronic mail accumulating and certifying means which stores received electronic mail in the mail server, causes the server to prepare the ID information corresponding to the stored electronic mail, and returns the ID information to at least the transmitter of the electronic mail.
