PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide-angle image display device that can properly display a panorama image, having a very large ratio of a long side to a short side within a rectangular frame. SOLUTION: An omnibearing imaging device 1 photographs an omnibearing image, and a geometrical conversion circuit 6 applies geometrical conversion to the image to turn it into a panorama image. The circuit 6 sends the obtained panorama image to an image converter 7. An image division circuit 8 of the image converter 7 calculates an optimum magnification, a division number and a layout direction, on the basis of number of longitudinal and lateral pixels of the panorama image 12 and number of longitudinal and lateral pixels of a monitor and generates a divided images, resulting from dividing the panorama image 12 according to the result. An image magnifying/reducing circuit 9 adjusts the sizes of the divided images depending on the magnification, the division number and the layout direction calculated by the image dividing circuit 8 and lays out the result to an area of a graphic memory 10 and the monitor 11 displays the result. |
