PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the corelation of images is eliminated in the connection part of imaging elements in the case of using an amplifying imaging element such as a CMOS imaging element. SOLUTION: Sample-and-hold circuits are provided in pixel for an optical signal and a noise signal. The optical signal and the noise signal are preserved independent of exposure and simultaneously outputted from the sample-and-hold circuits (two-line output in each string) in structure. Thus, batch exposure (an electronic shutter function) is realized between the imaging elements and between the pixels and also noise is surely corrected.
