PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic solution for driving electrolytic capacitor which enables the life time of an electrolytic capacitor to be prolonged. SOLUTION: Using ethylene glycol as main solvent, higher dibasic acid or a salt thereof and/or boric acid or an ammonium salt thereof, and 0.1 to 1.0 wt.% of 1-(1-oxy-2-naphthylazo)-6-nitro-2-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid (Formula 1) or a salt thereof are dissolved.
