PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique that can shorten a time required for switching by reducing facility costs by eliminating preliminary stand-by systems. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step for detecting failures generated in application processing, and for notifying the other information processor that a failure is generated in the application processing; a step for receiving the notification, and for issuing a transmission request for an ARP packet, indicating an IP address used for the application processing, in which the failure is generated and the MAC address of its own device, when the degeneration destination of the application processing in which the failure is generated is its own device; and a step for receiving the transmission request, for assigning the IP address used for the application processing in which the failure is generated, for transmitting the ARP packet to a network, and for notifying the other information processor that the MAC address corresponding to the IP address is changed.
