SYSTEM FOR OPERATING HOT SWAP OF ATAPI TYPE DEVICE

PURPOSE: A hot swap operation system is provided to make a hot swap function for adding a new device or withdrawing a currently operated device without turning off a power in a case that two ATAPI(AT Attachment Packet Interface) devices are simultaneously connected to the master and the slave of one channel. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a switching controller(111), a master device switch(112), and a slave device switch(114). The switching controller(111) decodes a device selection signal transmitted from a host controller which has operation state data of the master and the slave device, and then the switching controller(111) generates the master or slave device selection signal. The master device switch(112) switches the data and the control signal transmitted from the host controller to the master device by using the device selection signal generated by the switching controller(111). The slave device switch(114) switches the data and the control signal transmitted from the host controller to the slave device by using the device selection signal generated by the switching controller(111).
