<p>An image processor capable of reducing the noise included in input image data. Whether a component of an image is an effective edge component of the image or a noise component is judged by judging whether or not any one of absolute values of the AC components of luminance (Y) is larger than threshold (A). If the component is judged to be an effective edge component of the image, a suppress&lowbar;flag is set to be 0 so as not to perform suppression. If judged to be a noise component, a suppress&lowbar;flag is set to be 1 so as to perform suppression. This image processor can be applied to a video camera for picking up an image of an object.</p> |
