The invention concerns an assembly for mounting a self-supporting spotlight on a stretched ceiling comprising a reinforcing washer glued on the membrane (4) forming the ceiling and a spotlight comprising at least a bulb and a spotlight flange capable of being secured to the reinforcing washer. The invention is characterised in that the spotlight flange comprises first securing means (8) and the reinforcing washer comprises second securing means (9), said first (8) and second (9) means being adapted to co-operate reversibly during the angular pivoting of the flange relative to the washer for locking and unlocking them.
