The invention relates to a device that is used to indicate the running reserve of watches with double spring barrels, manual wind watches and automatic wind watches. The invention comprises a running reserve device consisting of: two spring barrels (1, 2), one for winding (1) and the other for unwinding (2); and a star wheel (3) which is solidly connected to a display means (17). According to the invention, the winding barrel comprises a winding pin (9) which activates a winding lever (4) that drives the star wheel (3) in clockwise rotation. The unwinding barrel (2) comprises an unwinding pin (10) which activates an unwinding lever (5) that drives the star wheel (3) in anti-clockwise rotation. Said star wheel is held in position by a catch (8).
