A method for reinforcing the mounting point for a suspension strut on a vehicle body has the mounting pressed into a shallow convex profile onto which the mounting plate of the suspension is secured. The mounting is secured using screw fasteners in a radial alignment to the convex surface. No additional reinforcing is required nor any thickening of the body around the mounting site.
