Production of an abrasion resistant galvanic layer on parts comprises dispersing nano-dispersants made from diamond particles with a grain size of 2-8 nm or metal oxide, silicon carbide or titanium nitride particles with a grain size of 10-1000 nm in water to form a nano-dispersant suspension; adding the suspension to a precious metal electrolyte; and galvanically forming the abrasion resistant layer in the form of a precious metal layer with embedded nano-dispersants. An Independent claim is also included for a part with an abrasion resistant galvanic layer. Preferred Features: The diamond particles have a grain size of 4 nm. The metal oxide, silicon carbide or titanium nitride particles have a grain size of 10-50 nm. The nano-dispersants are subjected to ultrasound in water to produce the nano-dispersant suspension.
