Column with packing is used for distillation/reactive distillation of mixture with toxic component(s). Packing layer(s) has upper and lower end, with variable internal geometry over height (H). Lower zone (6) of packing layer, with higher flow resistance, gives bubbling layer with mainly dispersed gas phase and upper zone (7) develops film flow with mainly continuous gas phase. Column with a packing is used for the distillation or reactive distillation of a mixture, with at least one toxic component.
