Method for processing document data in a document data processing system that comprises a document generation computer (3, 12), a document processing computer (4, 7), an electronic document distribution system (6) and a monitoring computer. In the processing computer control data is inserted in the document data which is used in conjunction with an intermediate barcode file. Independent claims are made for a document data processing system and a computer program product for the same.
