<p>An elevator apparatus wherein a car (5) and a balance weight (6) are suspended by a main rope (4). The driving force from a driving device (31) is transmitted to the balance weight (6) through a driving rope (29). The lifting and lowering of the balance weight (6) causes the lifting and lowering of the car (5). The driving rope (29) is entrained around a plurality of balance-weight-associated sheaves (21-24) mounted on the balance weight (6), upper-shaft-region-associated sheaves (25, 26) disposed in the upper region of a shaft (1), and lower-shaft region-associated sheaves (27, 28) disposed in the lower region of the shaft (1). All of the weight-associated sheaves (21-24) are coaxially disposed in the upper region of the balance weight (6).</p> |
