The ventilation system for the front and rear zones (11,12) of an automobile interior (10) has an air distribution housing linked to air flow outlets, and with at least one fresh air intake to draw in air from the ambient environment and an outlet for the air which has recirculated within the vehicle. A suction channel (33) is connected to the recirculation air opening, at the suction inlet (34) at the floor level in the rear zone. The air intake channel inflow is directly at the floor (101) of the automobile interior.
