A brake system for a child's vehicle, e.g. a toy perambulator, has a brake module containing a split brake band a separate brake lining as well as an axially operating wheel blocking brake, which is also replaceable. The brake module is secured in a housing covered by a lid and is operated by a Bowden cable brake linkage.
