A pneumatic tyre with a braced tread 2 and a carcass having at least one ply 9 of parallel cords extending between beads 5, 5<SP>1</SP> with the cord angles being different in the two sidewalls 3, 4 to impart greater rigidity to one than the other. The cords extend substantially radially in the less rigid sidewall 3. A further ply 10 may be applied to sidewall 4 forming crossed plies with the adjacent part of ply 9. The tread reinforcement 7, 8 may be asymmetrical with respect to the mid-circumferential plane M. Various arrangements of plies and reinforcements are disclosed.</p> |
