The invention relates to a condenser (1) in a power station having a device (12) which is positioned on a wall (13) of the steam jacket (5) in the condenser tube region (8) of a power station and used to introduce non-expanded steam. The device has a large chamber (22) extending across almost the entire condenser (1) wall (13) surface, which is used to expand steam. A first and second steam distribution tube (16,18) comprising perforated diaphragms are arranged in the chamber (22). The introduction of steam from the chamber (22) into the steam room (4) takes place via a plurality of narrow orifices spread out over the wall (13).The inventive device (12) provides for a significant reduction in noise emissions and damage, such as erosion and vibrations owing to said noise emissions.
