Device for blocking pipelines conveying especially air/solid mixtures comprises a housing (11) having opposite-lying pipe connecting branches (14) and a sliding plate (12) positioned so that it moves longitudinally into a slide receiving slit (22). The housing consists of two identical housing halves (18, 19) designed so that their two flat connecting surfaces facing each other run through a longitudinal plane of the slide receiving slit. An Independent claim is also included for a process for producing a housing for the above device. Preferred Features: The slide receiving slit is formed by a recess in the connecting surface (20) of each housing half. The recess has a depth which is the same or slightly greater than half the thickness of the sliding plate.
