Disk brake (10) comprises a brake disk (12) and two friction brake linings (14, 16) arranged on two sides of the brake disk. The disk brake is operated by rotating one friction brake lining relative to the other fixed friction brake lining. The disk brake is released by rotating the friction brake lining that is fixed during operation of the disk brake in the same direction as the friction brake lining that is rotated during operation of the disk brake. Preferred Features: The friction brake linings are circular disks. The disk brake has an electromotor (32, 34) for rotating the friction brake linings.
