PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of packaging a bread in a bag while the bag is prevented from getting damaged by the bread which is put, in the method for packaging the bread by opening the bag and putting the bread into the bag from its opening. SOLUTION: Before the bread is inserted into a packaging bag E which has been swollen by a jet of hot air and has its opening expanded by a chuck 30, the jet of hot air is slantly blown out from air nozzles 7 provided on both sides of the bag E toward a bottom of the bag. Thus, air in the bag E is partially expelled, and the bag gets more flexible to allow the bread to be inserted without damaging an internal surface of the bag E.
