PRODUCING METHOD OF QUARTZ TYPE OPTICAL FIBER COATED WITH ALUMINIUM AND QUARTZ TYPE OPTICAL FIBER COATED WITH ALUMINIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a generation reaction of aluminium oxide (Al2 O3 ) generated between an optical fiber and fused aluminium when the wiredrawn optical fiber is passed through a die filled with the fused aluminium. SOLUTION: A thin film forming means (CVD device) 10 is arranged in between a wire drawing furnace 2 where the preform 1A of optical fiber is set and the die 4 filled with the fused aluminium, a carbon film is formed on the surface of the wiredrawn quartz type optical fiber 1B and, thereafter, the optical fiber 1B is passed through the die 4 filled with the fused aluminium.
