PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize timber for thinning by using the timber for thinning for a front screen for a frame made of steel while continuously maintaining a function as earth- retaining construction works even when the timber for thinning corrodes. SOLUTION: The frame made of steel is formed of H-shaped sectional front-rear column materials 1 and 2, depth beams 3 in the depth direction, crossbeams 5 in the horizontal direction, bracings 7 or the like. A large number of the timber 42 for thinning are inserted into groove sections 1b among the flanges of the column materials 1 on the front side and arranged in a wall shape while a plurality of horizontal shape-steel screen materials 43 at intervals in the vertical direction are installed onto the internal side faces of the column materials 1. Sufficiently large strength can be ensured as the front screens. The inside is filled with a fill material such as stones, and earth-retaining construction works or the like are completed. Since the shape-steel screen materials 43 are mounted on the internal side faces of the column materials 1, the pressure of fillers 45 is easy to spread to the column materials 1. Since steel materials, the shape-steel screen materials 43, are used as spares even when the timber 42 for thinning corrodes after the execution of works, a function as the earth-retaining construction works is maintained continuously. Complicated repair works such as the exchange of the column materials with new ones are made unnecessary.
