PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a risk of inclined recording and to raise the speed of the operation in cross controlling of sub-scanning (LF) and main scanning (CR). SOLUTION: A constitution assumed time in a next sub-scan driving is obtained based on historical information of a sub-scan constitution time of a recorder and a free-running assumed time from a next starting of main scan driving to starting of the recording is obtained based on historical information of a necessary accelerating time in the main scanning. It is determined whether or not the cross controlling for starting the main scan driving before the completion of the sub-scan driving can be executed by using the constitution assumed time and free-running assumed time. When it is capable, the time difference from the starting of the sub-scan driving to the starting of the main scan driving using the constitution assumed time and the free-running assumed time.
