PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint structure of underground laying members suitable for a towing construction method for adding and laying adjacent long size elements, surely preventing biting-in of sediment between joints of the preceding and succeeding elements, surely and smoothly connecting the mutual adjacent elements, coping with lengthening of the elements, and capable of miniaturizing a grout plate installed on the joints. SOLUTION: The underground laying members 4 to 7 by projecting a plurality of joints 12 to 15, and 19 to 22 are adjacently arranged on the outside. Shielding members 26 are slidably installed on at least one side joint of the preceding laying member precedently laid on bedrock 1 among the mutually adjacent members. Engaging grooves 16 and 23 of the joints are shielded from the bedrock. The joints of the succeeding laying members 5 to 7 laid on the bedrock succeedingly to the preceding members are engaged with the shielding member. The shielding member is moved in the moving direction of the succeeding underground laying members. The joints of the succeeding members can be engaged with the joints of the preceding members. The tubular shielding member is slidably installed outside at least one side joint of the preceding members.
