PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aminoformaldehyde resin which comprises a -CH2 OCH2 - group at a larger quantitative rate than a methylene group. SOLUTION: The method for producing an aminoformaldehyde resin comprises passing a methylolification process and an etherification process using an alcohol, a formaldehyde compound and an amino compound, wherein the etherification process is carried out in the presence of a weak acid catalyst followed by a strong acid catalyst.
