PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a mold releasing film adaptable to active glass rich in TiO2 and Nb2 O5 , such as high refractive index lead-free SF glass. SOLUTION: The surface of glass is irradiated and coated with a CH film. The resulting glass causes neither fusion bonding nor cracking in forming. The reason is considered that a tough film of O=Si-CH is formed on the surface of the glass by the irradiation to ensure mold releasability peculiar to CH even in the case of the above active glass.
