FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of succinic acid monoether from 17-hydroxysteroid and succinic anhydride. Method involves acylation of 17-hydroxysteroid using succinic anhydride in medium of aprotonic bipolar solvent at temperature 20-110 C in the presence of catalytic amount of excess of a base. Dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, dimethylsulfoxide and other similar solvents are used as reaction medium. Different bases, for example, calcined potash, triethylamine are used as catalyst. Base excess does not influence on the yield of end product that is to be 91%. Process is carried out under mild conditions. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, high yield of product. 2 cl, 6 ex
