PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and easily acquire desired detailed and latest information, while a crew member on a vehicle is remains in the vehicle, in where one is staying during traveling or the like. SOLUTION: The information providing system is constituted by comprising an on-vehicle terminal, an information provision terminal which is installed in the passage place of the vehicle or in a drop-in destination and which has a short-range communication means and an information provision apparatus which is connected to a communication network, such as the Internet or the like. The on-vehicle terminal comprises a short-range communication means, a network communication means which can be connected to the communication network, a display means which can display information and an input operation means. The on-vehicle terminal can receive information provided by using the short-range communication means from the information provision terminal situated in the neighborhood; and when a desired item in the information is selected and designated, the on-vehicle terminal connects the information provision apparatus to the communication network by the network communication means, and acquires detailed information, regarding the desired item selected and designated from the information provision apparatus. |
